To ensure the enjoyment of your cabinetry for years to come, follow these simple care and maintenance guidelines.

 

Regular Cleaning: Exterior

Cabinets should be cleaned with a solution of dish soap liquid and warm water. This simple and mild solution is enough to get food smudges, dust, and mild grease build-up off of your cabinets. Rinse thoroughly with another clean cloth before drying with a final cloth.

Wipe with a clean, soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Never use kitchen cloths and sponges that might have detergent or grease on them, or embedded abrasives.

Heavy Duty Cleaning: Exterior

For heavy build-up of grease and dust, it is best to use products such as Murphy® Oil Soap that are designed to be used on wood cabinets. They have a way of breaking down the thick grime that can accumulate on cabinet surfaces. Be sure to read the instructions before using, and test first in a hidden spot.

Interior Cleaning

Empty each cabinet, beginning with the top most one. Wash the interior of the cabinets with warm water and mild dish soap liquid. If the interior cabinets have a lot of crumbs and residue, it may be a good idea to vacuum the cabinets out after they've been emptied, before wiping them down. Rinse with another clean damp cloth. Wipe dry with an additional cloth.

Tips:

Clean at least once a month to protect the wood by wiping the surface with a clean, damp cloth, then dry immediately.

If a spill occurs, clean and dry immediately. Left unattended, a spill can soak through the laminate or wood surface and cause damage.

Excess moisture can damage any cabinet finish. With all cabinets, take a little extra care on bottom edges of base cabinet doors where invisible moisture often collects. Keep these surfaces dry.
